creates high performing leaders and organisations. We employ the wisdom from a track record of over 20 years rich experience across corporate, governmental, not-for-profits and charities.
We value integrity, ethical practice and the developing strength of diversity whilst providing radical and challenging interventions. Our work is supportive, enabling and highly solution focussed based on encouraging new thinking by our clients. Ours is not a "prescriptive" practice; we build trust to get behind the surface to deep rooted issues which need fixing and to formulate owned solutions.
Our approach provides an excellent return on your investment, whether as an individual client or as an organisation seeking a wider intervention.
| 'Providing managers with a coach through our recent merger was invaluable. It ensured managers were well supported, enabling them to cope with the uncertainty and make wise choices. As a result, we lost none of our key performers: instead they continued to grow, and deliver even better results at a time when other companies have suffered major performance set backs.' Who we are
The Centre maintains a small core team of experienced consultants who offer a diverse richness to organisational development. Our regular Directors' meetings provide peer supervision and external supervision to support the continued refinement and development of our practice.
Our consultants have a shared set of values around integrity, ethical practice and diversity. We provide organisational change solutions whilst maintaining the loyal confidential support for every individual client within that change programme. Creating this trust is core to our success in creating radical shifts in behaviour.
We call ourselves “boutique” firstly because our small size ensures that clients receive the very best service, and are not exposed to inexperienced consultants; and secondly because our services are individually designed for each client.
We unashamedly support our clients to work towards a world which is sustainable and fair.
The Centre works across a broad client base enabling cross fertilisation of ideas, best practice and learning between the sectors. Our clients range from executive coaching for the CEO to team coaching, organisational change and leadership programmes.
We have organisational and individual clients. Among our institutional clients are famous major, and minor charities, banks and manufacturing companies, major national and local housing associations, Criminal Justice, professional assocations, hospital trusts, medical and legal practices and Universities. Individuals, some of them self-financing include small business owners, professionals, Chief Executives, consultants and members of pressure groups.
What is consistent is that each client intervention gets a small highly experienced and skilled team led by a client manager. We develop robust and trusting relationships with clients.
Individual clients from many settings seek support for their career development, for generating strategic directions, for tricky management issues, working towards retirement, and for supervision. Some will continue with long term coaching and mentoring.
"You steered us through the changed agenda with poise and subtlety and we achieved what I wanted in the very short time we had. At times, it felt like you had made time expand, giving us space to consider and reflect, but bringing it together on time" Mike Innes Chair CCG
Coaches and mentors need professional supervision to ensure their continued professional development and the quality of their work with clients. All our consultants are supervised.
We provide supervision for external and internal coaches, both individually or in groups, working with them on three integrated areas:
The Centre is renowned for its excellent programmes to develop coaches and mentors, whether this is for a cadre of internal coaches or to develop coaching skills for managers. We tailor-make our programmes to meet the specific needs of each client organisation ensuring excellent return on investment.
Realising the cutting edge potential of diversity is central to all our work, no matter how homogenous a team or organisation may appear. We believe diversity is key to developing excellent organisations, and to converting necessary bureaucracy from a standardising and inefficient drag on resources to a flexible and imaginative performance.
We work to support organisations to enable them to fully release the full potential of their managers and staff through celebrating difference and ensuring everyone is respectful, respected and able to fully contribute. In addition we work to support our clients to increase the diversity of their workforces to build on their strengths and ensure their client services can most effectively be met.

'Just what I needed - a real shot of energy'
Women can still experience a glass ceiling, feelings of isolation and systemic organisational sexism. Opportunities to network and build leadership capacity with other women is both enjoyable and beneficial.
"Thanks so much for a great start to the day. It was just what I needed, so much on at the moment, and was just the pause, energy and connection I needed. Thank you!" Rachel Robinson CEO Learning Partnership West
Breakfast seminars have been running in Bristol since 2014 and nationally on line since 2017. We are now also running seminars in Cardiff. These informal seminars bring women leaders from all sectors together to explore ideas and share experiences.
"... I thoroughly enjoyed the seminar. It made such a difference having an intimate session with likeminded people that we could open up to. I often find networking groups far too big to really gain any meaningful relationships and therefore make them worthwhile. The topic was relevant and thought provoking and I would certainly be interested in further events." Rebecca Kibby Legal Director Foot Anstey LLP
Topics have included: the impact of women leaders; leading change in uncertain times; systems thinking and organisatonal change; driving culture change; and "is there a business case for diversity?".
The seminars are informal, with plenty of time for discussion and networking. They happen 2 to 3 times per year in Bristol and Cardiff and also on-line.

Breathing Fire - bringing creativity to workplace development
Breathing Fire is a theatre company comprised of women of Afrikan descent that specialises in interactive theatre. Our purpose is to work with, and support, communities and organisations to explore, discover and understand life's diverse experiences. We do this through a range of processes, mainly by encouraging people to share their stories and experiences using creative techniques, including interactive theatre productions and drama workshops. We work with people of all backgrounds and organisations across all sectors.
Stories, whether they focus on everyday existences or fundamental moments, shape our lives and who we are. Sharing our individual and collective stories enables us to find exciting ways to communicate, learn and empathise with each other. In our committent to equality, diversity and inclusion our processes and outcomes aim to feed into strategies that support organisational development.
Whilst we are a Bristol based company we deliver regional, national and international projects.
