Wendy Murphy

Wendy is an experienced consultant and facilitator with over twenty years experience as a senior manager in public sector organisations. She has driven and led the turn around of many previously failing services, with a particular focus on engaging and inspiring existing staff to ensure that change is embedded and long-lasting. She has also led a number of corporate and cross-authority projects, and has significant experience of working with Members across the political spectrum.

 

Wendy is chair of Mendip Housing, which is a member of the Aster Group. She also sits on the Group Board.

Wendy first began mentoring other women working in the housing sector over 20 years ago. More recently she has acted as mentor and coach to a number of women and men working in different sectors, at different stages of their careers and lives. She has also run a number of action learning sets including sets run within organisations, and open sets for those working in particular sectors. In addition, she runs training courses on a wide range of subjects for those working in the housing and public sectors.

To support her coaching practice, Wendy has completed the Masters Practitioner course in coaching and mentoring at the University of the West of England which The Centre runs in partnership with the university. She also has a Masters in Business Administration and a MSc in Social Policy and Planning.

Wendy works with senior executives, management teams, and board members.

Wendy is also a novelist, poet and dancer who brings her creative energy into coaching and mentoring sessions – but dancing is always optional!
